THE CENTER FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND THERAPEUTIC DEVELOPMENT AT CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY (CAU) TO HOST COMMUNITY WELLNESS FAIR OCT. 18

WHO:             Researchers at the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development (CCRTD) at CAU, in partnership with the English Avenue and Vine City Ministerial Alliance

 

WHAT:           Will host the third annual “Harvest of Health” Wellness Fair

WHEN:           Saturday,Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:        Greater Bethany Baptist Church, 786 Thurmond St., N.W., Atlanta, 30314

BACKGROUND:       This free wellness fair will offer various types of preventive screenings, with the main focus on prostate cancer screening for men in this community.  In addition, other preventive screenings will be available for general health conditions and risk factors for diabetes, obesity, HIV, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and behavioral health conditions, which are prevalent in ethnic communities.  The wellness fair will provide information, education and screening services to empower people in the areas of health, wellness and nutrition to address health disparities.  This fair also is sponsored by the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority.  For more information, contact CCRTD at 404-880-6878 or via email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
