Happy Black History Month! We are so excited that it is Black History Month! This is a time when we get to share our history with our kids, families, co-workers and friends. We get to reflect on our path-changing past and celebrate our incredible futures.
From Harriet Tubman to Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, James Weldon Johnson, Nelson Mandela, Nina Simone, Mary McLeod Bethune, Lena Horne, Marva Collins, W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X, Ida B. Wells, Medgar Evers, John Lewis, Coretta Scott King, and Barack and Michelle Obama to just name a few, who inspires you to share their story and triumphs?
We have an amazing foundation of ancestors who have paved the way for us and we must do all that we can to ensure that their stories are never forgotten. You don't need a platform to speak up, sing their praise, and share their story with others... Just join Urban Parenting this month as we share untold stories, African American adventures, and ways you can celebrate your own life and legacy.
Have you been to these African American treasures? Check out these museums that celebrate black culture and history everyday:
